Today we have an ever growing amount of research connecting Neuroplasticity to the influence structural injuries and adaptations have on the nervous system.
I thought it was time for the definition of Ligamentous Injuries to be updated, or at least to include the following information:
“Ligamentous Injuries are now not just seen as a simple peripheral musculoskeletal injury, but as a neurophysiologic dysfunction, influencing “Executive Functions” such as processing of somatosensory information by the prefrontal cortex, causing reorganization of the central nervous system, in essence affecting neural plasticity.”
