Here’s a few “Take Aways” from todays Lower Body and Extremities Course in Prince George, BC.
1. Target Mechanoreceptors when treating
2. Got Patients complaining of “Heaviness” or have a sense of “Giving Way” – Think about targeting then ligaments, capsule, Interosseous Membranes
3. Targeting Mechanoreceptors in treatment can change Autonomic responses from Sympathetic to Parasympathetic.
More to come on Day 2!
Day 2!
Sorry about the cell video cameras attempt to autocorrect the scene mode – so annoying!
Here’s a few “Take Aways” from todays Day 2 Lower Body and Extremities Course in Prince George, BC.
1. Small changes produce large effects – making changes to meniscus, popliteus can produce global, systemic changes that can be immediate
2. Working more slowly allows you to feel more involuntary movement and tissue change.
“The quieter the mind, the stiller the hands, the less movement you make, the more you can perceive involuntary tissue movement!”
3. Don’t work beyond what the reciprocal tension of the tissue allows. Don’t abuse the tissue, co-operate with it and respect the reciprocal tension and you will be more effective.
4. Complaints of pain referral patterns, heaviness, a sense of “give way” in an extremity can be connected with Ligamentous, meniscal, articular dysfunctions.
See Ligament Pain Referral Posters here:

5. Stretching has more of an effect on the joint capsule, ligamentous articular complex than musculotendinous complex.

Another Amazing day!
Can’t wait until the final day 3 tomorrow!
Day 3!
Here’s a few “Take Aways” from todays Day 3 Lower Body and Extremities Course in Prince George, BC.
1. Trust your hands and instincts. Don’t get frustrated with not understanding what your patients’ physiology is telling you. Calm down and listen.
2. Recognize the connectedness and interconnectedness of the tissues you are working with and co-operating with. How is the Ligamentous Stocking playing a factor in your treatment?
3. Question everything and use some critical thinking and common sense when treating the anatomy. If it doesn’t make sense, question why and figure it out. Does what you were taught make sense?
Here’s the link to my Free Video series where you can watch me treat the Respiratory Diaphragm as I see appropriate and what makes common sense to me.

Day 4
Here’s a few “Take Aways” from todays Day 4 Lower Body and Extremities Course in Prince George, BC.
1. Generally these techniques are slow, deliberate, intentional, specific and precise and require an intent focus mentally and physically from the RMT. There are no FAST movements. Everything is incredibly subtle under your finger.
2. Utilize Breathing Techniques with your treatment to possibly amplify the effectiveness of the technique. Try it, you’ll like it!
3. Postural correction techniques are very important in todays negative, fear based, over stimulated, sympathetic dominance world.
Another GREAT day here in PG instructing both Ligamentous Articular Strain courses!
